Our client is a well established business within its industry sector. It can demonstrate a sustained record of profitability through new product development meeting the needs of a demanding customer base.

This is a key appointment within the executive team and, as is often seen these days, responsibilities go beyond just leading the finance function and here include HR, Legal & IT alongside an active involvement in commercial matters on contracts & pricing.

The Role:

• Lead the finance team in a manner that ensures management and statutory accounting information is produced in an accurate and timely manner
• Work with functional leaders in interpreting financial information, offering advice and guidance which, by definition, will contribute to tactical and strategic input to overall company direction
• Appraise existing financial systems, policies and procedures, making recommendations to change and improve where necessary
• Lead and develop the finance team, offering support and encouragement in their achievement of professional qualifications

The Candidate:

• A qualified accountant with a minimum 10 years in a financial management leadership role within a multi-site manufacturing business
• Good track record of commerciality, including contract negotiation, and developing a commercial focus internally
• Adept at dealing with, and managing a wide range of professionals and advisors, in a cost-effective manner
• A solid appreciation of commercial accounting software would be desirable and linked to this is your experience of redesigning and implementing financial systems and processes
• You will lead a small team who will be inspired by your can do attitude and effective communication skills which you will use in having a voice in the development of overall business strategy
